The PfVIMT consortium gathered in Kisumu to visit Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) facilities and ongoing project activities.

Over three days, we had the opportunity to:
🔬 engage with the study core team and review research activities,
🧪 visit laboratories and insectaries in Kisian,
🦟 observe field activities in Ober-Kamoth, including participant enrolment,
🏥 and explore the KEMRI/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Kisumu Center for Clinical Research.

We were especially grateful to Eric Ochomo and Simon Kariuki, Principal Investigators for the project in Kenya, and their teams, for their leadership and for hosting the consortium coordination team throughout the visit.

These exchanges provided a comprehensive view of the work carried out on the ground — from entomology and clinical research to community engagement — and highlighted the central role of KEMRI teams in advancing PfVIMT.
