As part of the PfVIMT project, Ebenezer Addo OFORI (Postdoc, IRD) travelled to Benin in May to support ongoing clinical and laboratory activities with partners from the Institut de Recherche Clinique du Bénin (IRCB).
Working closely with Azizath Moussiliou (Head of biology of PfVIMT in Benin) and Edith Aloukoutou (Lab Engineer), the mission focused on strengthening the implementation of high-quality immunological sample processing through practical training and field support.

During the visit, he:

  • Trained and supported Azizath and Edith in the implementation of the biological protocol.
  • Observed ongoing field sampling activities conducted as part of the PfVIMT clinical studies.

This mission highlights the importance of knowledge transfer, harmonised laboratory procedures, and close collaboration between consortium partners.

Building local capacity and ensuring high-quality sample handling across study sites are essential foundations for generating robust data in multicentre clinical research.

A big thank you to the teams in Benin for their commitment and teamwork!
